The VeleRi Student Assembly was established in 1998, when the University was founded, as a student representative body whose purpose is to protect the rights and promote the interests of students at the level of the individual higher education institution, as well as at the state and even international level.The Student Assembly isa non-political, non-partisan, non-governmental, and non-profit organization that respects the principle of the inadmissibility of discrimination based on race, sex, language, religion, political or other belief, national or social origin, property, birth, education, and social status.The students of the University of Rijeka elect their student representatives and the Student Ombudsman every two years within the Student Assembly of the University of Rijeka.The Student Assembly of Veleučilište Rijeka (SZ VeleRi) is composed of a President, a Vice President, a Secretary, and the Assembly itself. The fundamental document governing the work of the Student Assembly is the Statute.The Student Assembly of the University of Rijeka has been in operation since the university's very founding.
